Pet Photography

Photographing your pets is always fun. Sometimes it's a little frustrating (for many different possible reasons), but in the end, if you persevere, you should get some good shots. My dogs are......interesting to photograph. One is a little camera shy, even though he always wants the most attention. The little jerk knows that, since he's dark in color, that I can't get as good of a photo of him (if I'm shooting natural light), if he sits in the dark. The other two.......they love the sunshine. They also couldn't care less if I'm pointing a camera at them. And, while they're chewing on their chewies, all you gotta do is make the little kissy sound, and they look right at you. Dance, puppets, dance.

So, recently I was taking some photos of natural light indoors and outdoors. At first, I wasn't all that psyched about how the ones from outdoors would come out, because the sun was completely gone, and the light was getting a little too flat. However, the shots came out great, and Maddy, the little model that she is, made some wonderful faces for me. You will notice, however, that there is a shot in here that was shot with a flash. I wanted to include it because it's.......well, just look at it. We were getting ready for the Ravens game, and got some doggie hair dye to give the pooches purple mohawks. Jack was a trooper and was rewarded with a treat, for getting his little mohawk. I will answer your questions now. Yes, that's his real head (no photoshop). And, yes, he's that creepy. :)
